Our First Pop-Up with Trending Table Market

Located right in front of the Drake Hotel on Queen West, where the infamous Curry's Artists Supplies used to be, is where we were situated for our two-day pop-up with Trending Table. Having only recently heard about the event, we decided to immediately apply when we saw that they provide all vendors with free professional headshots. This was not only a great way for an in-person experience for our brand but receiving a complimentary photoshoot with it was a win-win.

At the end of February, we were amongst seventy-plus vendors that came out during a snow storm to set up shop during this weekend pop-up. Setting up didn't take nearly as long as in a convention centre, which was great but the one downside to doing a market as opposed to a show was there wasn't a lot of traffic. Admission to the event was free to attend so a lot of the traffic ended up being from whoever was casually strolling along on the west end at the time.

Though the traffic to the pop-up wasn't as great as we'd hoped, we did love connecting with other likeminded individuals like ourselves. It was so refreshing to be in a such a tight space with other entrepreneurs who were so passionate about building their businesses. It helped us feel a real sense of belonging, and that we were heading in the right direction. 

The crowd may have been scarce but our pieces did receive many compliments from those who dropped by our table, with one mentioning that our bikinis needed to be in the sunny streets of L.A. That put a smile on our faces for sure, as well as all the new friends we met at Trending Table Market that we'll be sure to stay connected with. The camaraderie seen between the vendors really reminded us why we love doing these events in the first place - it builds community and connects us with what we're most passionate about: people.
