Avery Swimwear at the NIX Tattoo Show in Toronto
Avery Swimwear was back at it this past June at the NIX Tattoo Show in Toronto. We were especially excited to be part of this show as it was unlike any other we've done before. Showing alongside over hundreds of international tattoo artists and piercers, among them was Avery. We were the only swimwear brand to grace the convention floor with our sustainable pieces.
We've been a strong believer that there's always a first for everything. With this mentality, we went into the show headstrong ready to meet a more open-minded crowd to expose our brand to. We couldn't wait to meet some of our most fearless customers to date - and the turnout did not disappoint!
Located at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the North Building, the NIX Tattoo Show took off during a three-day event. From June 9th to 11th, the convention hall was transformed to accommodate world renowned tattoo artists eagerly waiting to showcase their artwork to the people of Toronto. We were more than happy to be part of this show, with our sexy swimwear in toll for all the fiery vixens in the house.
Stocked with our signature pieces, we brought along our first two collections in a full range of sizes. We were especially curious to see which styles would be the best sellers at this show and in the end, it was the Liv bikini in Maven and Lola bikini in Charcoal that were the clear standouts. These two styles were flying off the racks by the hour and we loved to see it!
For this show, we did things a bit differently by sharing a half booth with another vendor. This meant our space was a lot more limited than at previous shows but luckily, we had a corner booth to showcase our sustainable pieces while still having enough room to install a fitting room. This made things easy for customers to try on our bikinis while browsing at the show.

The best takeaway from this experience was hearing all the positive feedback about our bikinis. Every time we do one of these shows, we learn more and more about our customer and what they like. Most of our customers ended up being other tattoo artists who needed some sexy swimwear to show off their tattoos in. One customer even wore our Liv top in Maven during the tattoo competition on the last day. This was a huge compliment to us!
The NIX Tattoo Show was a truly unique experience. We were ecstatic to connect with so many like-minded tattoo artists, piercers and vendors while showcasing our bikinis. Meeting a more open-minded crowd of women that were seeking our thong-style bikini bottoms and vegan leather swimwear was definitely the highlight. We've been waiting to meet more women who aren't afraid to show off their bodies and this was the place to do it.
Since launching two years ago, we always wanted to bring our brand to a more diverse crowd and the Tattoo Show was just the beginning! We'll be popping up non-stop this summer so make sure to stay up-to-date with us on our socials to see where we'll be showing up next!
